Handler was raised in a pleasant neighborhood and had a joyful childhood. As a teenager, Handler moved from the city of her birth to Los Angeles to pursue her acting profession. Handler started her acting career to support her. Handler was able to perform stand-up comics full-time once she reached the age of 21. She realized she is gifted at the art of storytelling. Handler's first professional gig was as part of the all-female Oxygen TV cast in the comedy show with hidden cameras Girls Behaving Unreasonably. From 2002 until 2005, the show aired.
